CTIA STATEMENT ON FCC'S ACTION ON CLEARING WIRELESS DEVICES.

WASHINGTON -- The following information was released by the CTIA, The Wireless Association:

Today, CTIA-The Wireless Association' President and CEO Steve Largent issued the following statement in response to the FCC's Order that clears wireless devices from the 700 MHz spectrum bands:

"Today's action by the Chairman and Commissioners represents the next critical step in the DTV Transition. The Order will help ensure that harmful interference does not hamper commercial wireless carriers' 4th Generation deployment plans, which promise to increase mobile broadband availability and adoption, as well as create much needed jobs. The Order also will protect public safety from harmful interference that could jeopardize life?saving missions. We thank Chairman Genachowski and the Wireless Bureau for leading this effort and the Commissioners for their help in getting this spectrum cleared for next generation broadband. We look forward to working with the Commission and other interested parties on this transition."
